Beat the egg yolks and sugar on high speed until pale yellow, smooth and shiny, about 5 to 7 minutes. Add the cheese and beat until thickened and smooth, about 3 to 4 minutes.
In another bowl, using clean beaters, whip the cream until stiff peaks form. Using a rubber spatula, fold the whipped cream into the yolk mixture until thoroughly blended, breaking apart any lumps.
In a small bowl, stir together the espresso and coffee liqueur.
Arrange half of the ladyfingers in a 10-inch serving bowl, and spoon about 1/4 of the espresso mixture over them. Turn the ladyfingers over and spoon a little more of the espresso mixture over them until they're almost soaked through. If using strawberries, arrange them around the edge.
Spoon about half of the cream cheese mixture over the ladyfingers to make an even layer about 1/2 inch thick. Arrange the remaining ladyfingers on top and spoon the remaining espresso mixture over them. Spoon the remaining cream cheese mixture on top, smoothing to cover completely. Cover and chill overnight or up to 2 days.
Dust with cocoa before serving.
