Ellen's Meatballs


  • 2 cups mild chili sauce
  • 1 cup water
  • 2 cups grape jelly
  • 2 pounds lean ground beef
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 cup dry onion soup mix


In a large saucepan, stock pot or dutch oven, combine the chili sauce, water and grape jelly. Bring to a boil and immediately reduce to a simmer.

Put meat, eggs and onion soup mix in a large bowl and mix well using your hands. Form into small (1-inch) meatballs and drop into simmering sauce. Cover and simmer for 1 hour.


Notes

Serve as an appetizer with bread cubes.

Makes 40-50 appetizer-size meatballs.
