Best Chocolate Chip Cookies


  • 1 cup butter, softened
  • 1/2 cup white sugar
  • 1-1/2 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 2-1/2 cups all purpose flour
  • 3/4 teaspoon salt
  • 1 teaspoon baking soda
  • 1 teaspoon baking powder
  • 2 cups chocolate chips


Preheat oven to 350F.

Combine butter and sugars and beat until light and fluffy. Beat in the eggs one at a time and then stir in the vanilla.

In a separate bowl, combine flour, salt and baking soda and baking powder. Gradually add the flour mixture to the sugar and butter mixture until blended. Stir in the chocolate chips, and drop teaspoonfuls onto an ungreased cookie sheet. Bake for 8-10 minutes until nicely browned.

Remove to a rack to cool.


Makes 36 servings.
